I wanted to clear up some confusion around all-season tires, since I know a lot of folks have a hard time choosing the right one. Hopefully, this helps make things a bit easier!

So, what is the best all-season tire? Well, the answer isn’t simple at all. But it can get easier if we break it down into the 5 main types of all-season tires.

Here’s a quick rundown of each:

Standard Touring All-Season Tires: These are your go-to tires if you’re looking for a balanced, affordable option. They’re designed for comfort and durability, usually with symmetrical tread patterns. You get solid dry traction, good tread life, and fuel efficiency.
Grand Touring All-Season Tires: These are a step up from Standard Touring in terms of performance and comfort. They offer better wet and winter performance, often coming with the 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake) rating for snow. Plus, they usually have softer rubber for a quieter and smoother ride.
